n the world’s major tourist regions, hotels with several hundred or thousand beds are located directly by the sea or in the middle of dry, barren desert landscapes. The cost of fresh water in these areas is enormous and bottlenecks, environmental regulations and energy prices are increasingly causing massive problems and even preventing many hotels from being built. The Austrian CleanTech company DesertGreener is currently developing a technology ready for series production that could fundamentally solve this global problem. Pure water from seawater, with high-tech from Austria enables hotels and resorts to be emission-free water self-sufficient – DesertGreener is launching a test plant in Cyprus in 2026.
